Art Teacher
Ms. Charlotte Kruk
“I am excited for next year. It has been absolutely fabulous to say to a student, ‘If it doesn’t look like you got a full cast on your bronze/silver piece, not a problem….We have the technology, we can rebuild this.’ Twice I’ve been able to sit down with a student and one on one teach them how to use the torch to melt silver solder into the joints of their faulted project and make it whole again. When the student’s little pouty face goes from super sad to overjoyed…..wow, what a day that makes for a teacher. I’m so thankful and feel so blessed by this generous donation…….I was a patient woman waiting 8+ years on a hope and a prayer and Lynbrook excellence totally delivered!!! I look forward to the summer to dream up the wonderful problems for students to creatively solve with their new soldering stations. From simple repairs to hot fabrication to enameling on metal, we’ll be unstoppable! Many, many thanks.”
World Language Chair
Mr. Michael Esquivel“World languages is thrilled to have new digital recorders. These recorders allow for a more authentic experience for the students. Students can record themselves, self assess and re-record with corrections. The recorders also allow students to practice their oral language skills independently and but also allow for feedback from their teacher.”
Biology Teacher
Ms. Nicole Della Santina“The new professional grade of micropipettes has vastly increased the ability of teachers to offer all Biology and ap Biology students a “Hands on experience with current lab techniques”. With this Lynbrook excellence donation the enthusiasm for bio tech has increased and more Biology teachers will be participating in a summer institute to gain further training and experience with the equipment. Students from Lynbrook have been accepted into summer internships based on the experience and training received in their classes with this Bio tech equipment.”
